Today was a heavy, over­cast day here in Long Beach — the kind of day that feels under­wa­ter and I’ve been watch­ing “Blue Planet” on TV…

Walk­ing Mose­ley through the neigh­bor­hood was like walk­ing through a library, the quiet was almost sacred.

Men­tally I’ve felt under­wa­ter all day too… so it seemed appro­pri­ate to choose this Cen­tral Ser­vices draw­ing for today.

Ed and Red are back and they’ve gone div­ing under the sea — each is in his own diving-bubble-helmet, so there is no dia­logue for this drawing.

Intro­duc­ing Cen­tral Ser­vices, a col­lec­tion of draw­ings, sketches, loose ideas and ram­bling notions from the mid to late 1990’s by Jon, onehumanbeing.

Cen­tral Ser­vices con­tained some of the DNA that has gone into Red­bot Loves You! so it seemed appro­pri­ate to begin our jour­ney with Cen­tral Ser­vices…

For the next cou­ple of weeks Red­bot Loves You! will be post­ing a new Cen­tral Ser­vices draw­ing every­day — Some of the draw­ings I’ll be post­ing over the next cou­ple of weeks were first posted online on www.jonandtania.com* in 1998 — time to enjoy them once again…

Ed and Red (early incar­na­tion of Red­bot?!?) were inspired by the two ser­vice guys in Terry Gilliam’s Film — Brazil — who were from “Cen­tral Ser­vices, Cen­tral Ser­vices sir…”
