Today was a heavy, overcast day here in Long Beach — the kind of day that feels underwater and I’ve been watching “Blue Planet” on TV…
Walking Moseley through the neighborhood was like walking through a library, the quiet was almost sacred.
Mentally I’ve felt underwater all day too… so it seemed appropriate to choose this Central Services drawing for today.
Ed and Red are back and they’ve gone diving under the sea — each is in his own diving-bubble-helmet, so there is no dialogue for this drawing.

Introducing Central Services, a collection of drawings, sketches, loose ideas and rambling notions from the mid to late 1990’s by Jon, onehumanbeing.
Central Services contained some of the DNA that has gone into Redbot Loves You! so it seemed appropriate to begin our journey with Central Services…
For the next couple of weeks Redbot Loves You! will be posting a new Central Services drawing everyday — Some of the drawings I’ll be posting over the next couple of weeks were first posted online on www.jonandtania.com* in 1998 — time to enjoy them once again…
Ed and Red (early incarnation of Redbot?!?) were inspired by the two service guys in Terry Gilliam’s Film — Brazil — who were from “Central Services, Central Services sir…”
* www.jonandtania.com was the second or third website Tania and I posted online, and our first domain name — it was launched in February of 1998 — currently retired…
You can purchase a framed print of this drawing at my Cafe Press shop…
